SIMS 6.8.x - Windows XP Hotfix
If you are using Windows XP and you've installed Windows XP HotFix KB824141, you will experience some blank windows popping up while running the SIMS program.
If you are using SIMS Version 6.8.3, 6.8.4, 6.8.5 or 6.8.6, you can fix this problem by installing a patch. Download this patch, run it, and point the installer to your SIMS Client, Standalone or Server folder. Specify the sims6 root folder as the destination just like a SIMS upgrade.
If you are using an older version of SIMS (previous to 6.8.3) you may have to remove the HotFix. To do this, go to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs. Find and select HotFix KB824141 and remove it.
We hope to have a fix for SIMS version 6.7.6 soon. If you are at an older version of SIMS, you will need to upgrade.
Remember, this is only an issue if you have Windows XP.
